Sean Meloy

Sean Meloy

Hometown: Gibsonia, Pennsylvania

Placement: Office of Congressman Mike Doyle

Sean is a recent graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, graduating with degrees in Political Science and Secondary Social Studies Education. Sean has been an active progressive since the aftermath of the 2000 election, and worked to advocate progressive ideals in the Democratic Party. Sean started a Young Democrats chapter at his high school, and continued his work in the College Democrats at PSU. Sean led the club through the 2008 Election as President, working to promote positive change at ALL levels of government, not just the White House. As a teacher, Sean is passionate about reforming education, and has entered government service in the hopes of doing so. Sean currently works on Capitol Hill in the office of Congressman Mike Doyle from his native city of Pittsburgh. Sean previously interned with the Congressman after receiving the Pittsburgh Foundation’s Fulton-Gow Fellowship to do so. Sean has also had the honor of being elected an Alternate-Delegate to the Democratic National Convention, receiving the College Democrats of America Alumni Association’s first Spirit of Joey Hanzich Memorial Award, and learning advanced campaign strategies at the Front Line Leaders Academy.
