Rachelle focuses on non-profit management, international development and socio-economic empowerment. She is currently the School Staffing Manager for DC Public Schools. Prior to her selection as a Fellow, she served as a Program Coordinator for the World Food Programme in Liberia, where she oversaw the organization’s work on implementing Parent Teacher Associations in school districts. Rachelle also worked as the Communications Coordinator for the International Women’s Colloquium under Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, Africa’s first female President.
Before working in Liberia, Rachelle was impacting the quality of volunteers through her work as a Recruiter at the US Peace Corps. As a Peace Corps volunteer, she managed a grassroots youth development organization in Santiago, Dominican Republic. She also served as the Chief of Staff at the Clinton Foundation and assisted in the management of post-presidential and foundation affairs.
While in DC, she participated in WeLEAD, a bi-partisan political leadership training for young professional women at American University’s Women & Politics Institute and served as Vice-President of Level Ten, a community organization aimed at closing the educational achievement gap. At the Clinton Foundation, she served the Chief of Staff and assisted in the management of post-presidential and foundation affairs. She holds a BA in Corporate Communication and Spanish from the College of Charleston.
